A true warrior is invincible because he or she contests with nothing. Defeat means to defeat the mind of contention that we harbor within. —Morihei Ueshiba, O'Sensei
I like that. If we don't perceive things dualistically, events, things, and people outside of us never become something 'other' and against us. Defeating the self-cherishing ego seems to help eliminate the whole concept of victor and vanquished.

We must surrender-and let love guide us.There is no other-it is all we.Together we find the light.
Lately in Aikido class we have been studying how our beneficent intention joins us with our partners like drops of water coming together, becoming one, while our partner's intention to connect to the divine through our centers leads us as one to our resolution. We consistently find that the slightest separation in thought or from mixed intention, even considering ourselves "superior" for wanting to help, interferes with aiki. We practice then to see our partners as extensions of themselves and open our hearts to complete our mission together. Thanks all!
Yes...Iove this quote of O Sensei's...embodying
Masagatsu Agatsu Katsuhayabi...
or
perhaps one way of translating it in to the realm of Organizational Leadership...
Try replacing all instances where one might utter the words "No....but...."
with
"Yes...and...."
Please try it and let me know what you discover.

Of late in Aikido class we have been contemplating how our advantageous expectation goes along with us with our accomplices like drops of water meeting up, getting to be distinctly one, while our accomplice's aim to associate with the perfect through our focuses drives us as one to our determination.

The primary word I-Thoucan be spoken only with the whole being. Concentration and fusion into the whole being can never take place through my agency, not can it ever take place without me. I become through my relation to the Thou; and as I become the I, I say Thou. All real living is meeting. —Buber, I and Thou
